The Achievement Center - Easter Seals was established in 1961 in a movement to offer quality services to individuals with disabilities. Since its beginning, the Center is a cooperative community effort among industry, Easter Seals Alabama, state and local education systems, Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services and the Veterans Administration. This cooperative effort has minimized the duplication of services and maximized the quality and quantity of services delivered to those benefiting from our assistance. The Center is also in partnership with Auburn University and Troy University whereby students may fulfill practicum and internships requirements by serving in a number of roles at the Center.
The Achievement Center - Easter Seals today operates a staff 34 employees under the direction of Dr. J. Phillip Raley, Administrator. Dr. Raley is also reports to a volunteer Board of Directors consisting of 15 individuals who represent all counties served. Our Board members offer a wide cross-section of experiences and backgrounds from both public and private business sectors, education, law, finance, medical, and community relations.

Consumer Directed Service Design & Delivery Achievement Center - Easter Seals takes an individualized approach to consumer service planning and delivery. AC-ES planning and service delivery procedures are designed to integrate the consumer into the entire process. Throughout your program at the Center, you will be asked to participate in planning your Individualized Evaluation Plan, Individualized Program Plan, and Individualized Employment Plan. Your progress in the program will be constantly evaluated by your supervisors or Program Manager. There will be monthly staff meetings where you, your Program Manager, supervisors, and ADRS Counselor will discuss your program and make any needed changes. You will be asked to participate in satisfaction surveys. Other stakeholders input is important to the planning and service delivery procedures of the AC-ES and is solicited through surveys, family involvement, and one on one contact. Through your consent, family or other individuals involved with you and your program may be asked to assist us by completing satisfaction surveys. |
